About ablaze
Ablaze was founded by Bristol businesses to build partnerships with education. It provides structured volunteering opportunities to help raise the aspiration, attainment and achievement of young people across the city.
By working closely with the education community ablaze is able to direct business resources and volunteer skills to where they are needed and will have the maximum positive impact.
You can help...
Ablaze is an independent charity with volunteers and funding provided by business. Volunteers are trained and supported to make the most of their valuable skills and experience. Impact is measured and projects evolved as priorities change.
The income stream must be consistent and sufficient to provide the regular support and development of opportunities that our young people need and deserve.
What's next?
Today's school pupils are tomorrow's employees, leaders and entrepreneurs. Bristol business can shape the future by giving them their support.

What we do...
Employee Volunteering
Ablaze has a large range of programmes which span the age groups. For example, volunteers can provide one to one support at primary age with reading or maths, or in secondary schools by working as mentors with young people. Volunteers can also help to introduce young people to the world of work by talking about their own careers or inviting groups of young people to visit the workplace. Leadership
It has been recognised that working with business has been part of the recent improvement in Bristol schools. To continue that trend volunteers are needed both to support learning initiatives in the classroom and as part of the leadership team, as governors or providers of specialist business skills. Business involvement is also vital to the development of the new Diplomas.
Bespoke Programmes
Every Business has something different to offer. Ablaze can help to advise, design, manage and evaluate specific programmes that match the skill set, market place and ethos of a business and fit into the curriculum.
Impact
The close relationship between ablaze and Bristol City Council means that ablaze can focus its volunteers where they are needed in order to have measurable impact. In the last year over 800 volunteers donated more than 21,000 hours impacting over 4,500 young people.
